Amara Nritya Kala Hansa (ANKH) is a Kathak-based dance initiative led by the acclaimed Gauri Sharma Tripathi. Rooted in classical Indian traditions, ANKH seeks to redefine Kathak for today’s world by exploring its relevance through contemporary themes.
At its core is a commitment to training and creative dialogue, ensuring Kathak continues to evolve while retaining its essence. ANKH’s performances have reached prominent platforms in India and globally, including the Southbank Centre and the Kala Ghoda Festival.

The Journey
Gauri, trained by her mother and guru Padma Sharma, is a pioneering choreographer and educator. She developed the Kathak curriculum for London Contemporary Dance School and has performed extensively across the UK and India. Her works include solo pieces like ‘Antahkarna’ and ensemble productions such as ‘Bodyline’. Gauri’s deep engagement with rhythm, emotion, and storytelling makes her choreography timeless and socially relevant.
